SEALING DIES

DIES with INTERCHANGEABLE SEALING FACES
The sealing faces of these dies are replaceable, for quick and easy refinishing, or to change sealing-surface configuration without the expense of changing the entire die. The dies are comprised of the die body that carries a keyway plus a replaceable insert that fits into the keyway and provides the sealing surface. The die body contains the heater. The insert carries the temperature sensor immediately beneath the sealing surface. "Insert Dies" are made in aluminum and steel:

Aluminum:

  • Flat sealing surface of ground aluminum.
  • Flat sealing surface coated with 0.025" (0.64 mm) silicone rubber.
  • Other inserts to order.

Steel:

  • Serrated sealing face in vertical or horizontal style.
  • Serration angles of 60°, 90°, and 120°.
  • Flat sealing surface (ground).
DIES OF UNIT CONSTRUCTION
Copper: Flat sealing surfaces.

Steel: High-temperature (water-cooled) dies.

NOTE: Overall dimensions of dies are 1.5" (3.8 cm) width X 5.25" (13.34 cm) length X 2" (5.1 cm) height before insulation. Steel dies are precision-machined from annealed tool steel, and stress-relieved prior to final machining. Steel inserts are hardened prior to finish diamond-grinding of serrations. All dies are fully insulated and equipped with sensors and heaters.
